Excerpt: I left plenty of time to re-discover the location of The Hive in Khar West this past Sunday. Its big, orange door proved elusive once again as I searched the maze of arterial roads that concealed the place like some lost Mayan pyramid swallowed by a thousand years of jungle and creeper vines.
This cafe/collaborative space is one of Mumbai's better-kept secrets. Known for its workshops, mixed-media performances, and a host of other artistically-inclined events, I was there to attend a photography lecture and then a photowalk on Carter Road with Kedar Kulkarni, whose drawings and paintings were also featured at The Hive from April 12th through the 26th.
