I am an author and an artist. I wrote a book (Alviso, San Jose by Arcadia's Images of America) on this lost port at the south end of the San Francisco Bay Area. This image is of the wet lands there. I have also written 11 other illustrated books, including the Born In Berkeley series and the well reviewed, edgy Silicon Valley mystery, A Valley of Ashes, all of these available through inklingpress.com. For autographed copies, lynnrogersma@yahoo.com.
Our congested, materialistic area is losing its wetlands and natural environment, but is one of the first in the world to struggle to reclaim in, at least in Alviso, where the Don Edwards Wildlife Preserve hosts the largest flyway (for birds) in the Northern Hemisphere. It is a pleasure to paint and write in Alviso.
