All the Universe I Would Move for You

In my day-to-day life I am a ghostwriter (a teller of other people's tales) and a developmental editor (a brainstorming fixer of other people's tales). As a developmental editor, I occasionally come across a story which resonates across my dreams and onto whatever piece of canvas or paper I might be painting on.

In this case, the story was simple enough tale: homicide detectives, united as a punishment for a job poorly done, find they are an unstoppable force when working together; it's the same basic premise a number of popular television shows, movies, and books have used. But...the personal relationship the two men formed as the case progressed carried the story to new and unexpected places. Unfortunately, the author felt the finished work was too personal and, in a fit of pique, destroyed all hard copies and files to prevent the novella from ever being published.

All the Universe I Would Move for You is what remains.
