After Rains - Motivation and Tips

I have been trying for some time to capture the freshness of landscape you experience after rains.
This is closest I have come yet.

In the region I live around you see lot of fresh vibrant yellow-green foliage during rainy season.
However it is not possible to use that colors directly in a painting (May be for skilled painters it is possible, but I am still getting there :) ).

So I used some complementary to yellow and yellow-green namely violet and red-violet. This keeps the landscape interesting and the colors vibrant.

The house is vaguely suggested as focus of interest but the motivation was to initially let the eye travel to the house.
As the viewer finds it is not clearly defined he again wonders into the yellow-green fields. House stands as an pivot around which I wanted the viewer to explore.

To keep the freshness and vibrancy I have used paint out of tubes in many places like the field and trees.
You need to just apply the paint and leave it. If you keep fiddling then it creates muddy and grey colors.

Finally to finish it off I sprinkled some burnt umber just to suggest some wet mud. It gives a feeling of a recent sprinkle.

What season inspires you to paint?

Happy Painting.
