A sunrise in Vermont

I do not get very many opportunities to do overnights or long hikes during the year but this Summer I jumped at the chance to do an overnight with a photography friend up on Mount Mansfield in Stowe, Vermont. Shooting the sunset, The milky way and stars at night and sunrise the next morning was a great way to spend several hours shooting. The Mount Mansfield ridge line is a prominent feature in the Vermont landscape with one end of it called "The Nose" and the other end that is in this image is called "The Chin." This is the very top of the mountain and a very distinctive feature when view up close or from a distance. Before we hiked down in the early morning we hiked up along this ridge line to watch the sunrise over the Green Mountains. With some wispy clouds around and a soft pink light we were not disappointed!
