A Modern Spin on Fractal Art

Abstract art created with computer-generated fractal spirals and geometric forms is a form of digital artwork that involves using mathematical formulas and digital layers to manipulate shapes, lines, and angles into a piece of artwork. Since I am definitely not a mathematician, a lot of patience plus trial and error goes into each fractal that I create. The time and effort required is worth it because of the sharp details attained when rendering the fractal. The end result is that the images are all suitable for large format printing.

Taking the fractal images one step further, I strive to create abstracts that are both unique and contemporary. To achieve this goal, I employ other digital methods to create color palettes that I can combine into my fractal formulas. This process is achieved by using a variety of imaging software programs to create light, shadows, and depth for each piece. Sometimes, the colors are bold and vibrant and sometimes, the colors are sheer, translucent, and luminous. Either way, each non-objective (non-representational) abstract art composition has a definite modern, contemporary, and sophisticated appeal.

My abstract artwork is designed to complement any decor with images available in a variety of sizes and print mediums (my personal preference is the sleek and stylish metal prints).

The artwork featured in this blog post is: Winding Road 1 by Janice Austin
