Day Six
The blog today will be showing another step in the process of creating one of my favorite paintings:
By reducing the original phot to a simple line sketch the concept begins to take shape. Sometimes adjustments are obvious now, sometimes adjustments begin to show up in the painting stage.
It is important to use sketchpaper of approximately the same dimensions as the canvas, and if possible, cutting it to same size as the canvas is ideal. Corrections can easily be tried out at this stage, multiple sheets are often required, so using recycled newsprint pads is the most economical.
More tomorrow!
