5 Extremely Feckless Writing Habits To Throw Away Right Now

Let’s come directly to the point. Writing for SEO is technical. As a content writer, you cannot afford to follow your own style in certain key areas. After years of experience in content management, Alon Solomon cites instances in his interview where his writing style was proving irrelevant and unimpressive outright.
“Content writing is more than writing what you know. It is also not writing what shouldn’t be written”, says Alon Solomon. His years of experience in content writing and management reveals to him the following extremely inapt writing habits that content writers should dispose off right now. Thankfully, he shares them with us. Read on to know them.
1. Super Long Paragraphs
People have a tendency to skim through content online. No body, yes no body, has the time to read long paragraphs. As a content writer, try to divide your article or blog into readable and understandable sections with separate sub-headings. This is make the post look presentable and is likely to get more viewers.
2. Buzzwords
For those of you who don’t know, buzzwords are popular internet phases but have no concrete meaning. However, not all buzzwords are useless. Here is a list of buzzwords that find great relevance in the present-day marketing space:
• Multichannel
• Mobile-optimized
• Bespoke Content
• Hashtag Mining
• Growth Hacking
• Thought Leader
Use these words sometimes but make sure you don’t overuse them.
3. Vague Language
Vagueness is something that can prove disastrous for content writers. You should be clear about what you are writing. Here is what you can do to overcome this habit:
• Begin different sections of a blog post or article with different clear subheads.
• Communicate one point in one paragraph. Start with a new paragraph for the next point.
• Speak it if you can’t write it.
• One simple sentence is enough for you to communicate a big idea.
• Use short sentences and decipherable words.
• Use more nouns, and few adjectives and adverbs.
4. The Meandering Communication
As a content writer, your purpose is to provide information in a short, crisp and precise manner. As such you should leave the habit of writing a uselessly long introduction that would ultimately bore the readers. Try to grab the attention of the readers in the first few lines of your article or blog. Try to avoid extending your introduction and digressing from the main subject.
5. Multiple Exclamation
You SHOULD NOT use an exclamation point for more than once in your content. Try to stick to one point because multiple exclamation points are rarely used but when used more than once, the credibility of the content is spoilt considerably.
Next time you write, make sure you are not sticking to these aforementioned habits because with these, you can ruin all your marketing plans and never get expected results.
