Rain Approaching a Barn
The storm brewing around Charlo, MT back in the summer of ‘06, finally delivered it’s moisture when I packed-up and decided to head back to Missoula, but upon seeing this red barn sticking out of the dark green grass like a sore thumb, I had to make one final stop.
The intent was to place the barn on the left side of the image, since the door faced to the right, but one smidgeon to the right of the barn would include the rusty heap of neglected farm equipment and the unsightly junk cluttering the yard.
Several days later while reviewing the slide, I noticed by placing the barn to the far right, it added a little tension to the scene, and the mountain directly behind the barn, appears to mimic the shape of the barn.
A good image usually involves a well executed plan, but more often than not, mine evolve by pure chance.
