Decisions, Decisions

Jumping right into new art in the new year, I decided to start by livening up an old painting. The sunflower that I did in 2013 was not selling and was seeming kind of dull. So I made the decision to refresh it with a cool, modern new color scheme.
There is just one problem with this. I got halfway through and got stuck deciding between two colors. Right now the painting shows a sunflower with yellow, white, and orange petals. The petals look so cool! But I don't know quite what to do with the center. I could either leave it white or I could paint it green. When I look at it right now I am torn. Sometimes I think "that looks so cool" and other times I just think there is too much white. The background is blue. But white petals and a white center? Conventional wisdom tells artists not to leave too much white in a painting. But it does look cool.
On the other hand, the green could take it to another level. It would decrease the amount of white and add another pop to what is supposed to be a very colorful, modern piece of art. I am not sure what to do.
So I am going to do both. It was suggested that I try both for comparison. And I thought "hey, why not just make both versions of the same painting?" They both appeal to me. Plus different people have different taste. Between the white one and the green one, there is bound to be something to please nearly everyone, right? I have done three versions of one painting in the past. That turned out great. So I will do it again. The trio of paintings will be very different, but they will each be very beautiful.
