2015 Week 8 Paintings 13 and 14

It was a hard week to eek out the time to paint 2 paintings. Between the additional snow, family visitors and doing my taxes (finally) I was still able achieve my goal. I just had to use different times of the day. No matter how spread thin you feel, if you give up watching crappy TV there is plenty of time to paint. The first painting of week 8 is entitled "Winter Dock." It is of the public wharf on Peaks Island, Maine, looking towards House Island. House Island is a privately owned island in Casco Bay located just a short distance from and between Peaks Island and the city of Portland, Maine. This public wharf juts out into the bay, and because it is not that heavily used, it is a wonderful place to take a cup of coffee and sit, ponder and paint. Maybe not so much in the winter. This original painting, on canvas panel is offered for sale, unframed, for $125. Shipping is free to US addresses. If you are interested in archival quality prints information can be found HERE.

The second painting completed this week is entitled "My Island Girl." A portrait of my wife striking the pose to catch the last rays of her summer vacation, on the ferry from Peaks Island, Maine, on her way back to the mainland. I find that we both look back longingly when we leave for the season, with the sun on our faces, especially when we know a winter like the one we are having now is not far down the road. This painting is not for sale but if you are interested in obtaining archival prints, you can find that information HERE.
