Art is created by someone from their own point of reference in the hopes that someone will resonate to what has been created. Part of the process is to get it to those people in hopes that they will have the means to support the artist and the desire to own one of their creations. If an artist never shares their work with the outside world, they block their flow because they run out of places to put it on their own. We artists need people to love our art or we lose our impetus to continue creating. Support current artists. The artists of the past have done their thing.
