As one will see when I have posted more of my photos, my major interests are photographing landscapes and wildlife. After that, if I spot an interesting subject or a pleasing composition, it is pretty much whatever is unfortunate enough to pass in front of my camera's lens. My primary interest in posting my photos is to make a point - if a person is patient, and observant, enough, it is possible to see many of nature's miracles most anywhere. Many of my photos have been taken within 25 miles of my home, and many people have been amazed at the fact that a substantial number of my wildlife and other nature images have been shot within the city limits! And this includes many of my prize Bald Eagle photos.

Yesterday as my wife and I were taking our daily walk through a city park, I spotted two hawk-like birds in a tree. As we approached, I took my camera from its case and shot a few photos. A positive ID was made upon searching through my bird guide at home - the birds were a pair of Mississippi Kites! Though these birds are not rare in this locale, they are uncommon, so this sighting was a bit of luck. Chalk up one more of Mother Nature's in-town offerings!
