Water Lilies

Near Corpus Christ, Texas lies a sleepy little village called Aransas Pass. It is known for the beautiful bay that is directly east of the humble burg. Well known for its sport fishing and kayak waterways, it's a great place to visit.

I took up residence here almost four years ago to find that there were many hidden treasures just waiting to be found. One of these was the appearance of the water lilies that seem to spring out of nowhere when the torrential rains come. This does not happen every year but when it does the water lilies are breathtaking. The color of the flower is quite subtle here. Usually light pink to lavender.

They are an artists delight. Prompting me to contemplate some peaceful groupings for a nice relaxing painting.

Please, when the rains come to Aransas Pass, visit us and see for yourselves, the beauty of the water lilies!
