May Flowers

In May, spring has sprung - usually. That means that the place will be in bloom. These blooms will range from little tiny woodland petals to blossoming trees. None-the-less, it's a great time to be out and about with a camera.

Things to consider as you head out.

Angle of approach: Don't be like most people that see a pretty flower, stand above it, look down and take a snapshot that looks like the millions of snapshots of flowers out there. Get next to the plant. If it is a small Crocus, you may have to lay on the ground. Look for an interesting background and position yourself so that if it is included it will frame the shot or if you have a shallow Depth of Field (DoF), that the blurred colors complement the subject and make it jump out. DoF is controlled by aperture, the larger the aperture (smaller number) the shallower the DoF.
