Doug is the whirled famous trendsetting (made in America) designer. 10 national designer trends.. in over 40 beer cans. Funny and stylish graphic art of all kinds. Doug Wilson has been creating for over40 years. He's created 10 national and graphic design trends selling to thousands of stores nationally.
His art is still being created today. Most recently a collection of got milk? Products. Baby rompers packaged in little milk cartons for half pints.
Doug's candle factory, Control Tower Candle Company, was created in the 70's. His first major trend setting business was creating candles that resembles food! Banana splits, malts, cakes, large crayons, Popsicle’s and many more. Some were collected by the Museum of Modern Art in LA for display.
Control Tower made the large Hershey's chocolate kiss candle looking like and smelling like the real thing. Today Hershey's chocolate com, copied it and sells the large chocolate kiss that's now made of real chocolate. Sold on Mother's Day.
Candles were so realistic looking that Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Company let Doug use their ice cream product containers. Baskin Robbins representatives would come in to check the quality of the product to their satisfaction. Designed for Bloomingdale's & Nordstroms and thousands of others, from candles to clothing and everything in between. I was the general manager of production.
